Square 2 Marketing is seeking a copywriter to create engaging, compelling messages for a wide variety of target audiences. The ideal candidate is skilled in crafting both long- and short-form content for distribution through many communication channels.

Our agency is home to a family of sharp, experienced team members who inspire each other to continually drive greater success. Copywriters here don’t disappear into a cubicle to churn out stodgy blog posts and emails all day. Our copywriters dig deep into digital marketing strategy and develop high-level messaging that helps our clients stand out.

Having knowledge of general marketing principles and experience with evolving marketing tactics such as SEO and CRO is preferred but not required. Above all, we’re seeking people with a passion for the written word, a willingness to learn and grow, and the ability to thrive in a team environment.

While our main office is in the Philadelphia area, we have remote employees from across the country. Remote candidates are encouraged to apply for this position.

Core Responsibilities
  • Write clear, succinct and compelling educational and promotional marketing content for a wide range of clients, with a focus on clients in technology and professional services
  • Create grammatically clean long-form copy as well as effective headlines, taglines, calls-to-action, blog posts, etc.
  • Write in multiple styles and for multiple formats as required by client style and prospect personas
  • Collaborate with the creative director, the editors and the client services team to ensure creative concepts, tactics and copy are in line with client style, voice and messaging and with keyword strategy
  • Initiate and participate in consultations with the creative director and client services team to ensure the implementation of smart creative strategies
  • Perform content audits to analyze and assess existing content, improve SEO results, increase engagement and boost conversion rates
  • Contribute to Square 2 Marketing’s agency content creation efforts, balancing the demands of the role with participation in broader agency initiatives
  • Quality assurance for work product to ensure delivery of creative concepts and written materials that are on strategy, on schedule and in line with client/agency expectations
  • Positive impact on client satisfaction levels, contributing to the agency’s overarching goal of delivering a truly remarkable client experience, as well as to its client retention objectives
  • Establishment of collaborative relationships with colleagues
