IT Support Specialist at T-Rex Solutions (View all jobs) Greenbelt, MD Summary:

T-Rex is seeking a temporary IT Support Specialist to support its continued growth by assisting staff in their daily use of technology. The IT Support Specialist will install, maintain, and troubleshoot the company's standard computer hardware, software, peripherals, and other company approved personal computing devices to ensure that all IT-dependent activities continue to function, while minimizing disruption to staff and clients.Â

Duties & Responsibilities:
  • Respond to IT support requests via multiple sources such as phone calls, emails, and tickets
  • Provide technical support to users for desktop and laptop computers, mobile devices (iPhone, Android), printing, scanning, faxing and software applications.
  • Conduct and document an inventory of technology assets
  • Image, configure and install T-Rex computer equipment, peripherals, and other computing devices
  • Setup video-conference, audio-visual equipment, and other electronic devices for events
  • Participate in project implementation and deployment efforts with team members, clients, and other IT groups
  • Provide on-the-spot training to T- Rex staff
  • Ensure that T-Rex information and systems are protected in a manner consistent with company policy, procedures, standards, and information security controls
  • Seek technical assistance or escalate problems, when necessary
  • Monitor and update help desk incident tracking tickets for purposes of demonstrating compliance with issue response and resolution, Service Level Agreements, logging daily activities and documenting solutions
  • Dispose of broken or outdated equipment according to company guidelines
  • Interact with T-Rex staff in a courteous and professional manner
  • Communicate updates on issues in a timely manner to ensure client satisfaction and productivity
  • Effectively present information to management, user groups, and team members

Education & Experience:
  • 2+ years of experience with end user support in a Windows 10 / MS Office / SharePoint environment.
  • CompTIA A+ and/or Network+ preferred
Required Skills & Abilities:
  • Advanced understanding of IT hardware repair and O/S management (Windows 10, Windows Server, HP, Dell, Lenovo, etc.)
  • Hands-on experience imaging, supporting, and troubleshooting desktop and laptop computers, mobile devices (iPhone, Android), Windows 10, printing, scanning, faxing and application issues.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office application suite and Office 365 applications such as Teams, Yammer, OneDrive, SharePoint, etc.
  • Familiarity with networking devices, Wi-Fi, remote access, and high-speed broadband
  • Familiarity with administration activities using Active Directory and PowerShell
  • Great problem-solving skills coupled with the ability to anticipate, identify and define problems, seek root causes, and develop and implement practical and timely solutions
  • Great verbal and written communication skills.
  • Ability to adapt quickly to new situations and changing priorities
  • Must be punctual, reliable, and accountable; with ability to follow through with tasks.
  • Uses time productively to accomplish work goals and handle multiple projects simultaneously.
  • Excellent customer service skills
