Stock Market Writer
InvestorPlace.com, a fast-growing site with 3mm+ monthly readers, is looking for freelance stock market experts and enthusiasts. This is a remote position, and we welcome anyone who wants to bring their personal brand to a large audience of investors to apply!
This is not objective reporting, but opinion writing. We specialize in commentary about big-name companies that matter to investors – Apple, Tesla, Netflix, Facebook and emerging names like Aurora, Beyond Meat and more. Our writers have to take facts, like how many iPhones were sold or how many subscribers Netflix signed up, and explain why those numbers are good or bad for stockholders.
Ideal candidates also should have some experience in a content management system (preferably WordPress), pitching stories to hard-nosed editors and the ability to drive users to stories organically.
You’ll dabble in two main types of stories: single-stock articles and galleries. Single-stock articles typically run between 700 to 1,000 words and discuss, you guessed it, a single ticker such as AMZN. Galleries usually run between 1,000 to 3,000 words, with an intro and company-specific slides.
Compensation varies and is based on experience and content type, but regardless of starting pay we always do right by writers who prove their mettle and stick with us for more than just a few months.
Preference will be given to candidates with experience writing about investing and the ability to write multiple articles each day the bell rings on Wall Street. But if you are enthusiastic about the stock market and can prove your ability to write coherently about a company or investing theme, we want to hear from you!
Success in this role is closely tied to the amount (and quality) of users you attract with your sharp news judgment and search engine optimization. While we run at a high volume, we pride ourselves on accuracy, relevancy and timeliness. Which is why we have editors on staff to develop your voice and big-time partnerships with major sites like Yahoo, MSN and Business Insider to promote your brand. But we believe high-quality content only matters if people click on it.
Please send along three clips related to your business writing, stock picking and other stock analysis and a brief background that includes your publication history and investing interests to [email protected] NOTE: LINKEDIN applicants MUST include links to relevant clips and attach their resume to the submission.
